Colleges and Universities
The McAllister Building renovation was the complete renovation and restoration of a 100-year old building at the University Park Campus. This project included the complete removal and replacement of the ground floor slab on grade, the first floor framing, and the columns supporting the upper three floors. The ground floor slab was removed, and excavation was done in order to lower the new ground floor three feet. New column footings and steel columns were installed to replace the existing cast iron columns, as well as new steel beams, metal deck and concrete floor slab. Temporary shoring towers were erected (2 per column location) to support the upper floors and roof while the columns and first floor system was removed and replaced.
