Allentown School District - New Elementary School

New Elementary

The new elementary school building ranges from two to four stories. The two-story west-end of the building contains community-use facilities. The center of the building consists of three stories of classrooms. School support spaces, including the gymnasium and library, are at the east end of the building. Spread footings on controlled fill are utilized to support the steel framing system and concrete on metal deck floors. Exterior enclosure is masonry, metal panels, curtain wall construction and membrane roofing. Interior finishes include terrazzo, ceramic tile, painted gypsum board and suspended acoustic tile ceilings. Site development work includes:

  • Demolition of existing structures
  • New parking
  • Driveway
  • Play area
  • Community garden
A community building attached tot eh new school will house a food bank and preschool and also provide community health services.
