Adaptive reuse of a former nursing home annex into a new Community Corrections Center. The existing building consists of a 4-story structure and a single-story wing. The scope of work involved selective interior demolition and re-construction. A new fire alarm system was installed and sprinkler and plumbing systems were upgraded to accommodate the needs of program spaces. Improvements to mechanical and electrical systems were made to meet modern building and ADA codes.
The Community Corrections Center provides low- and medium-security housing for short-term inmates and pending parolees. The facility provides a work release program, day reporting center, remote video visitation site, and intervention services. The facility has the capacity to house up to 450 male and female low-risk offenders and accomodates 60+ staff.
