Berks Heim Nursing Home

Construction of a 3-story, 255,000 square foot, 420-bed long-term-care facility on a 40-acre site. Berks Heim features three floors of double-occupancy resident rooms with stand-alone nursing and duty stations. The complex also contains a 60-bed Alzheimer wing, a rehabilitation therapy clinic, and a 4,500 square foot chapel / multi-purpose room. The ground level includes kitchen and dining facilities, administrative space, and support facilities. Core areas are framed in structural steel; residential wings are block-and-plank.

Early preconstruction involvement enabled the development of estimates during schematic design and design development stages, as well as value engineering, constructibility review, and life cycle and cost analyses.
