A new 50,000 square foot science center for Dickinson College. The facility includes a 2,000 square foot planetarium which contains a retracting observation dome for the observatory. Other program spaces for the facility include a large lecture hall, research areas, classrooms, offices, seminar rooms and laboratories. The facility houses the college’s departments of physics, astronomy, mathematics and computer science. All spaces are equipped with the latest in scientific technology. The building is a structural steel frame with hand-cut stone veneer on CMU back-up with custom aluminum windows, large elevations of curtainwall, and a decorative metal trellis over an outdoor patio study area.
