Foundation Academy Charter School - High School Facility Renovation and Expansion
The addition to the north of the building requires complete demolition of the rectory. The addition will add 8 new classrooms ot the second and third floors and include a free-flowing info-common space where the school can hold meetings, study sessions and events. There will be a large, open area connecting the two buildings to facilitate student and faculty traffic flow.
The existing high school building will be renovated on all floors which will include:
A new stair tower in the addition will fill-in two of the four existing fire stairs, along with the conversion of a third stair into a new elevator. A minimum amount of demolition will occur in the basement and main level to facilitate the total number of required classroom spaces. The elevated orchestra room in the existing building will be reconfigured for two science labs. Repartitioning of the lower floors will provide 16 classrooms in the existing building.
