Healthcare and CCRC
This project added a new 5-story, 165,000 SF critical care building to Geisinger Health System's Wyoming Valley Campus. It includes a new 38,000 SF emergency department with 26 treatment bays, CT scan and x-ray room along with support space including triage and administration areas. There is a 40,000 SF surgical suite with 12 new operating rooms. In addition to the OR's there are 26 bays for PACU/Prep/Stage recovery units, support spaces and anesthesia rooms. These departments have a connecting link to the existing hospital.
The building structure is built of cast-in-place concrete foundation with a structural steel frame system with poured concrete floor slabs and roof deck. The exterior skin of the building includes brick, aluminum curtainwall and architectural metal panels. The building has a heliport on the roof and passed LEED SILVER certification. |
