Healthcare and CCRC
Phased construction to enlarge and modernize the existing Emergency Department. The project expands the unit from 26 to 63 triage and treatment bays and provides a new roof-top helipad with dedicated access elevator.
The project also includes a new mechanical penthouse and addition to the campus central utility plant. The mechanical penthouse contains three central air handling units to provide space conditioning for the new and existing emergency department, as well as a site snow melting system and new uninterruptable power supply. The central utility plant addition houses two new cooling towers and a new chiller to provide redundant capacity.
Careful scheduling and logistical planning are used to minimize disruption to existing operations and ensure continuity of emergency and basic care services while work is underway. A new parking lot was constructed to replace spaces demolished for this addition.
