Construction of an 88,000-square foot, four-story, ecologically friendly headquarters for a global developer of data analysis software. The building contains 225 offices, 12 conference rooms, state-of-the-art training facilities, and a catwalk with a view of Mt. Nittany. A tree-lined center atrium runs the full height and depth of the building and features a glass elevator. The upper floors open to tiered balconies with glass railings. Interior corridors have canted walls to lend an added sense of spaciousness. Functional areas range from private offices to collaborative workgroups. The complex also includes a theatre, exercise room, game room, a full-service kitchen with garden-level dining terrace, and kitchenettes on all upper levels.
The building is constructed of a structural steel frame with poured concrete walls and piers. The exterior envelope alternates EIFS panels with glass ribbon windows, complemented by GFRC panels at the lower level and translucent panels at the upper level. A central tower at the main entrance features Lucobond panels. A geothermal system provides primary heating and cooling, supplemented by natural gas in winter months. Specially coated windows enhance the efficiency of both cooling and lighting. Extensive landscaping on the 17-acre property included planting over 200 trees and laying a walking labyrinth of concrete pavers.
