National Museum of Industrial History

The National Museum of Industrial History site was formerly a 100-year-old Bethlehem Steel electrical shop located on the largest private brownfield in America. The phased restorations converted the facility into a state-of-the-art museum to represent the great industrial establishments of the 19th and 20th centuries.

The National Museum of Industrial History is affiliated with The Smithsonian Institution and will highlight technological advances from the American Industrial Revolution.

Phase III renovations include the installation of:

  • Exterior underground conduits
  • Underslab electric
  • Radiant floor heating
  • Slab on grade
  • Exhibit foundations

Phase IV A and IV B include the shell completion, interior fit-out and the completion of the Courtyard, pavers and selective exterior work.
The first floor houses:

  • Main lobby
  • Gift shop/Admissions
  • Multi-purpose room
  • Exhibition space
    • Machinery Hall
    • Iron & Steel
    • Textiles
    • Propane
