K-12 Education
Parkland High School features a 477,000 SF, two-story building complex consisting of three classroom wings, gymnasium, natatorium, locker facilities, arts, music and theatrical complex, major library and administrative areas.
The school is situated on a 110-acre scenic site with a soccer stadium and track facility, baseball and softball varsity fields, football practice fields, ten tennis courts and intramural playing fields. The buildings are a combination of structural steel and wall-bearing masonry with concrete decks and masonry interior corridors. Terrazzo floors are utilized in main traffic corridors. Oil-fired boilers and centrifugal chillers are located in a mechanical plant connected to the athletic wing. A sewage treatment plant was constructed on the site adjacent to the Jordan Creek.
Notable features are an 8-lane NCAA pool with moveable bulkhead and gallery seating for 700; 3-NCAA regulation basketball courts with seating for 3,200 and a 1600-seat auditorium with full theatrical stage.
