The Pennsylvania State University – Beaver Stadium ADA Improvements

Improvements to the existing north, east and west stadium to provide additional accessible seating capacity, new ADA accessible ramps, new accessible men’s and women’s restrooms, new storage facilities and related underground and overhead utility upgrades.

The project consisted of renovations to various sections while the stadium remained occupied and in full operation.  Ample staff was on site to coordinate the schedules of the simultaneous activities occurring throughout the stadium.  Periodic, localized shutdowns of certain areas or utilities were necessary and scheduled as needed.

Utility upgrades included installation of new, larger pipe to underground sanitary and storm systems to accommodate existing and new facilities.  Upgrade to seating bowl storm drainage was made to correct an existing problem and to accommodate the new ADA seating platforms on the east and west sidelines.  Fire suppression and alarm systems were added and expanded into the new restrooms and storage buildings.  Major overhead electrical secondary system service was added to the north end of the stadium.  Feeders and equipment were brought to a distribution point in the north end, providing permanent power for the new buildings and capacity for future expansion.
