Pennsylvania State University – Chemistry Building

Construction of a 181,890-square foot state-of-the-art teaching and research facility. Specialized areas include synthetic and biological chemistry, physical and analytical chemistry, nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometry. Additional spaces include a classrooms, computer labs, instrumentation facilities, seminar/conference rooms, and faculty and administrative offices.

The building has a structural steel frame with brick veneer on CMU block backup and custom curtainwall elevations with sunshades. Roofing systems include EPDM membrane in flat areas and a mechanical penthouse enclosed in flush metal wall panels. Significant site redevelopment was required.
