Construction of a 17-floor, 604,000 square foot courthouse housing 66 courtrooms, 60 judges' chambers, secure holding / detention cells, and supporting administrative and processing areas.
The building is framed in steel with stone and architectural precast cladding. Lobbies, corridors, and other common spaces have high-finish terrazzo floors, interior molded stone, and glass fiber reinforced gypsum ceilings. Courtrooms and chambers have an extensive amount of detailed carpentry in the finishes of wall panels, judge and jury benches, doors, framing, and other millwork. The facility also Includes one of the largest central cooling plants on the east coast, over 5,000 tons.
