Healthcare and CCRC Williamsport Regional Medical Center expanded its 4th Floor Operating Room Suite with the fit out of over 25,000 square feet of existing shelled space within the recently constructed Patient Tower. The project required significant upgrades and modifications to existing mechanical and electrical systems serving occupied areas. Extensive planning and execution of systems shutdowns and utility tie-ins occurred throughout the project.
Significant infectious control measures were utilized to keep the work areas segregated from patients and visitors. A temporary material hoist was constructed on the outside wall of the hospital to move materials to and from the 4th floor work area rather than interrupt elevator operation/access within the hospital, and to maintain clean corridors outside the shelled space work area. All construction was completed adjacent to an active operating suite with continual activity and adhered to the strictest ICRA requirements & the 2014 FGI Guidelines Operational Impact Assessment protocol. |
