UPMC Susquehanna - Bald Eagle Court Medical Office Building

The first phase of the project consisted of the conversion of approximately 15,000 square feet of former retail space into new medical office and diagnostic imaging space along with exterior improvements to the facility. The interior renovation included new registration areas, clinical areas, imaging and laboratory services, restrooms and staff areas, significant mechanical and electrical upgrades and a new entrance canopy.

The existing interior was demolished and gutted down to the structural steel. Site work included new ADA parking, sidewalks, a drive lane and a new steel canopy at the front entrance. MEP upgrades included a natural gas powered hot water heating system, new air handling unit, sprinkler system and two new electrical services.

Specific features include:

  • 20 - primary care exam rooms
  • Four bariatric and procedure rooms
  • Exam and consultation rooms
  • Specialist consultation room
  • Radiology procedure room
  • Four patient restrooms used for specimen collection
  • Nine nurse touchdown stations

Construction occurred in portions of the existing facility directly adjacent to occupied areas. Significant coordination was required to minimize disruption to tenants.

Design assist was utilized as a collaborative technique to obtain subcontractor input during the design and to expedite the aggressive schedule. Project will allow for future expansion shell space.
