Healthcare and CCRC
The scope also included replacement of a large air handling unit located in the basement of the Hospital. Temporary HVAC connections were created from other air handling units to maintain the care environment during construction, specifically during the replacement of the air handling unit, serving the Imaging area and other areas including Doctor’s Offices, Laboratory, and auxiliary areas of the Hospital. The existing air handling unit was located in the center of the Hospital and was demolished in place and removed in pieces. Detailed planning and close coordination with York Hospital staff was required. The replacement unit had to be coordinated to fit through existing openings and brought in through the Hospital.
