This project involves the construction of a multi-use arena, hotel, office and two parking facilities on 5.3 acres of two city blocks. The scope of work also includes preservation of the Dime Savings Bank building which is on the National Register of Historic Places and shoring of the Farr Lofts building. Sitework involves demolition of unused structures, removal of existing concrete foundations, shoring of kept properties, building site preparation including micropiles, and removal of an existing data line.

The combination of the specialized construction of an ice hockey arena landlocked between a hotel, office center and parking structure in the middle of an urban environment presents logistical challenges throughout the construction process. Traffic flow and construction site access has to be approved by both the county and PennDOT as traffic flow has to be adjusted to one lane on 7th, 8th and Hamilton Streets. Construction parking and staging areas are contracted with the city to ensure flow of trucks for deliveries.
