Gettysburg Hospital - Emergency Department Expansion

Multi-phased expansion and renovation of the emergency department and the addition of a new MRI suite. The first phase involved utility relocations and the construction of a temporary pedestrian and ambulance entrance to allow the existing department to maintain continuous operation while the old entrance was demolished.

The addition consists of a two-level, cast-in-place concrete structure with full basement. New emergency care facilities include:  Two triage care bays; eighteen private patient treatment rooms; a trauma resuscitation room; two designated bereavement rooms; a designated decontamination room; andmultiple work pods for care providers with touchdown space for nursing supervisors, crisis workers, and registration staff.
