The Fashion District Philadelphia project spans more than 1,000,000 sf covering three city blocks and serves as a crucial connection between the SEPTA Regional Rail lines in Jefferson Station at 11th Street and the PATCO and SEPTA Market-Frankford stations at 8th Street.
Phase 1 involved interior demolition along with MEPFP enabling work and upgrades to vertical transportation, including new elevators and escalators and modernization of the existing freight elevators.
Phase 2 included selective structural demolition and major alternations to the interior and exterior of the Gallery at Market East to transform the buildings into the Fashion District Philadelphia. A new street level, glass entrance pavilion was created at the northwest corner of 9th and Market Streets replacing the sunken entrance. All interior finishes from the concourse to the 2nd floor were replaced with upgraded materials. HVAC and electrical systems was upgraded for energy efficiency.
